Things I wish I could say to you (but can't):
It's weird for me to like you. I know that, we're so different--you're from Korea. I'm from Seattle. You like science, I hate it. I love reading and poetry, you hate it.
Two people know that I like you. I deny it to them, I deny it to myself. I think I'm over you, I think I don't need you--and then you call or talk to me or text me or whatever and WHAM! I have a feeling in my chest I can't get rid of. It weighs me down, and there's no way to get it off. If I go a few days without seeing you, the pain lessens, and I think I'm ok...until we talk and I'm back to where I started.
You told me about whatshername, the girl who sits 2 desks away from me at the office. She told you she liked you, and you turned her down. Most importantly, you told ME that you turned her down. What if I told you I had feelings for you and you did that to me? What then? I couldn't take it, I was rejected by someone I thought I really cared about (now I know I didn't, it was stupid, but I THOUGHT I cared.) Then again so were you. You were rejected by one of my best friends.
Also, how would that make me feel? One of my best friends rejecting you, then you rejecting me? How inferior would that make me feel?
I couldn't take the risk, I couldn't take the chance. If you were the hottest guy in the office (like the first guy who shot me down) then I could take it. I could take the rejection. But you're not perfect, you're not invincible, you sit in front of me every day at lunch.
And that reminds me of all the girls you talk to. There are four girls that I worry about you liking.
1. The girl who used to be one of my best friends before she became a bitch. She started being friends with you around the same time as me, and I sure as hell hope you like me more. You defend her sometimes. You also hate her sometimes. I hope you grow to hate her ALL the time.
Actually, you know what's worse? Not caring. I hope you don't care about her.
2. The girl who sits next to me in the office, (she sits next to the girl who you turned down.) She's pretty, funny, smart, and I think she's a great person. You do too. She thinks you're a good person. She worries me a LOT.
3. The girl who sits next to the girl who turned you down (on the other side, not #2.) Isn't it ironic that 4 girls who have strong connections with you all sit next to each other? How weird is that?
She's nice. She's quiet. Korean. Kind of pretty, not as pretty as #2. I'd be surprised if you liked her, but I see you talking to her a lot.
4. The bitch who flirts with you in the cafeteria.
She has a fucking boyfriend!!!! She's nice (to your face.) But as soon as you turn around (or some cooler people show up) BOOM! She's gone. Don't trust her. Don't think she likes you just because she flirts with you. I've seen so many guys hurt by her, and I don't want you to be one of them. Don't fall for it. Please.
I've had the feeling on my chest ever since you called me half hour ago. Sometimes, I think you like me back. When you call me for no reason, text me just to say hi, tell me I'm great, remember cute little things, like the first time we met (I was sitting on the floor reading, and you were leaning over to plug in your laptop, I asked you a question. You remember that question.) The fact that you remember everything I tell you. I feel like you like me when I pass you sitting on the floor in the main room, and stop whatever you're doing to stare at me. When you call me to "ask about the current contract" when we're not even on the same team (and I know you know that, believe me.)
You're the only person who can really make me smile when I'm having a bad day. Just thought I'd let you know.
